President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s lawyer, Wole Afolabi, explains the certificate discrepancy, citing a mixup at Chicago State University, where “F” indicating female was mistakenly noted, in an interview on Channels TV’s Politics Today.
Atiku Abubakar, the PDP presidential candidate, challenges Tinubu’s election victory and obtains Tinubu’s academic records from Chicago State University.
Tinubu’s lawyer, Wole Afolabi, explains the discrepancy, stating that the transcript provided by Southwest College indicated “F” for female. The error occurred because the applicant checked the male box, leading to the admission letter being issued to “Mr. Tinubu.”
Dr. West Brown acknowledges that university mix-ups are common. Wole Afolabi explains that certificates weren’t issued at graduation, and the one Tinubu submitted might have been issued by someone not at the university in 1979, clarifying the signature discrepancies.
Former Atiku spokesperson Segun Sowunmi questions Tinubu’s attendance at Chicago State University, pointing out discrepancies in the certificate, including a security number linked to a female name. He raised doubts about Tinubu’s attendance and certificate authenticity.
