Kanye West officially changed his name in court on Tuesday.
Los Angeles Superior Court filing states the 44-year-old singer wants to ditch his full name – Kanye Omari West – and go by his two-letter nickname, Ye, since he has no middle name or last name.

A court document dated Aug. 11 but not filed until Tuesday cites “personal reasons” for the change. The attorney who filed the documents did not reply to an email seeking comment immediately.
But, approval of a judge is needed before these changes are effective.
