Nigerian comedian Okey Bakassi is gearing up to launch his debut big-screen project by the end of 2023.
Veteran comedian Okey Bakassi is set to release “Bank Alert,” a crime comedy, where he serves as the executive producer and lead actor. The film is produced in collaboration with Wingonia Ikpi, FilmOne Studios, Trino Motion Pictures, Tribal Marks Media, and Sterling Bank.
Directed by Akay Mason, the project is a highly anticipated one which features an all-star cast including Bolanle Ninalowo, Kate Henshaw, Kanayo O. Kanayo, Taiwo Hassan, Uzor Arukwe, and Tina Mba.
Principal photography for “Bank Alert” is complete, and the movie is set to hit theaters on November 24, 2023. While the storyline remains undisclosed, viewers can anticipate a unique cinematic experience.
Okey Bakassi joins comedians like AY Makun and Bovi in the realm of big screen projects. AY Makun found success with the “Merry Men” franchise, a crime thriller centered around Abuja’s eligible bachelors, while Bovi made an impact with “My Village People,” a comedy supernatural thriller released in 2021.
Expectations for Bank Alert are high as we await the release of the third installment of the Merry Men movie, tagged Nemesis, which will hit theaters nationally on October 13, 2023.
