The Federal Government has mandated that all government workers on its payroll receive COVID-19 vaccination.

Workers who refuse to be vaccinated would be prohibited from assessing their places of employment, according to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Boss Mustapha, who announced the news during a briefing on Wednesday, October 13, 2021.

Employees of the FG who do not have evidence of vaccination would be banned from government offices beginning December 1, 2021, he stated.

He said, “With effect from 1st December, 2021, Federal Government employees shall be required to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or present a negative COVID-19 PCR test result done within 72 hours, to gain access to their offices, in all locations within Nigeria and our Missions. An appropriate service wide advisory/circular will be issued to guide the process.”

Mustapha, who is also the head of the COVID-19 presidential steering group, said the figures gathered over the previous four weeks on testing revealed that the trend of infection is decreasing in certain states while increasing in others.
