Omoyele Sowore, a human rights campaigner and coordinator of Revolution Now, has had his travel restrictions lifted by an Abuja Court of Appeal.

Following charges of treasonable felony, cyberstalking President Muhammadu Buhari, and other offences, a Federal High Court restricted Sowore’s movement to Abuja in 2019.

The appellate court ruled on Wednesday, April 13, 2022, that Sowore might now leave Abuja but not leave Nigeria.

Sowore announced the news on Twitter, saying the court considers the restrictions imposed on him were unreasonable.

In the 2019 presidential election, the African Action Congress nominated the publisher and human rights campaigner as its presidential candidate.
