Lionel Messi achieves his eighth Ballon d’Or after the World cup victory in Argentina.
More than any other person in history, the Argentine superstar already has seven Golden Balls to his name. He is now expected to be regarded as the world’s finest player once more after leading his nation to World Cup victory in Qatar in 2022.
According to SPORT, Messi will get the greatest individual honors on October 30 in a lavish celebration in Paris that is organized by France Football.
That victory will put him even further ahead of his longtime competitor Cristiano Ronaldo, leaving the superstar from Portugal and Al-Nassr with five victories.
Messi, who joined MLS team Inter Miami in the summer, will also make history by being the first Ballon d’Or winner to play club football outside of Europe. This will give him an advantage over Ronaldo, who is now playing in Saudi Arabia.
Messi will surpass prolific Manchester City forward Erling Haaland, who scored 52 goals and helped the Blues win the Treble last season, to win the greatest honor in professional football while he adds another record to the books.
