According to American actress Jada Pinkett-Smith, she and her estranged husband Will Smith are attempting to rebuild their marriage as a “life partnership.”
Despite the fact that Pinkett-Smith and Smith have been apart for the past seven years, she mentioned in a recent appearance on The Morning Show that they are still working on and attempting to revitalize their relationship. She emphasized that there was no divorce in theory or on paper when asked if they were getting a divorce.
She said, “There is no ‘finding another great love’ and I think that’s the point. We are in a place now that we are in a deep healing space. And we are really concentrating on healing the relationship between us. There is no divorce on paper, no divorce in theory. We are working very hard at bringing our relationship together back to a life partnership.”
The actress said that she and Smith might live in the same home once more in response to a question. She continued by saying that they made a commitment to accept one another for who they were before getting married to the famous actor.
“I came into the marriage with very specific ideas that were blocks for me to see Will as he is; he can’t be this perfect idealized husband. I have to be able to accept him for the human he is, and he has to accept me for the human I am. And we want to love each other there,” Pinkett-Smith said.
In advance of the publication of her book, Worthy, the actress has been making appearances in the media and revealing some of its contents. Among other topics, this covers her marriage to Smith, her family, her struggle with alopecia, and her bond with the late Tupac Shakur.
Social media repeatedly retaliated against the actress with each revelation she made. It all began when she disclosed that she and Smith had not been together when he slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars in support of her, having been apart since 2016.
The situation worsened when she accused her divorcing husband of being unfaithful and claimed to be “shocked” that he had referred to her as his wife at the time.
In a different interview, she noted that Chris Rock asked her out on a date back in the day while under the impression that she and Smith were getting a divorce.
Another video that surfaced showed Pinkett-Smith declaring she didn’t want to get married at the Cloisters Castle in Baltimore, Maryland, back in 1997. She described how miserable she felt on their wedding day after her mother forced her to marry Smith since she was pregnant during that episode of her Red Table Talk show.
