Naira Marley, a street sensation, has advised his Muslim brethren to abstain from gambling during Ramadan.

The musician warned his Muslim brother-in-law to avoid gambling in a tweet. In this fortunate month, he advised Muslims to refrain from placing bets on sports and other sure things in favor of fasting.

The holy fasting month of Ramadan will start in Nigeria on Thursday, March 23, 2023, according to a statement made on March 21 by Saad Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto and head of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA).

Muslims all across the globe observe Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, as a time for prayer, fasting (sawm), reflection, and community. In order to strengthen one’s relationship with God, one must refrain from eating, drinking, smoking, and engaging in sexual activity during this time.

Every day of the month, Muslims fast from just before the Fajr (sunrise) prayer until the Maghrib (sunset) prayer.
