Timaya said he is not the type of person who would harm somebody.

Timaya, a Nigerian pop sensation, has spoken out about his detention following a hit-and-run incident.
On March 2, 2022, an Instagram user named Osinubi Omowumi, who claimed to be the victim’s sister, accused the music singer of driving his car into her sister after she confronted him for causing damage to her car.
The musician detailed what transpired between himself and the lady in an Instagram Live broadcast posted on his Instagram page on Thursday afternoon.
Timaya claims that when the lady accused him of striking her car, he got out to get her phone number so they could handle the situation peacefully.
Timaya stated that he was attempting to obtain the lady’s phone number when he noticed four males racing towards him.
He jumped into his car to depart the situation, not knowing who they were, and while doing so, he noticed the woman on the floor.
The musician stated that he visited the victim’s family and never attempted to flee the scene of the tragedy.
Timaya had already been detained by Nigeria Police Force officers in connection with the crime.
The victim’s sister accused the musician of inflicting her grave injuries.
“She is in the hospital now in serious pain and the funniest part is me messaging him to do the needful but this wicked fellow blocked me after reading my messages,” part of her post read.
She also said he blocked her on Instagram when she tried to contact him.
