This new move solidifies their status as legendary Nollywood icons.

Aki and Pawpaw have earned the distinction of being the first Nollywood characters to have their own video game.
The ‘Epic adventure’ game, created by Play Network Studio in conjunction with Blueportal Software, has the rowdy couple go on an epic adventure in an attempt to avoid trouble.
Chinedu Ikedieze and Osita Iheme, the Nollywood actors behind these hilarious creations, appear to be voicing the couple.
Charles Okpaleke first announced the game in 2021 writing, “We are happy to announce that in line with our exclusive exploitation rights to the brand ‘Aki & PawPaw’, we are at the final stages of the first ever Nollywood Game, Aki & Paw Paw Epic Run, powered by @playnetworkafr and @playnetworkstudios..”
His studio purchased the Aki and Pawpaw trademark in 2021 and made a remake of the Aki And Pawpaw film, which was released the same year. The film grossed $30 million in its first weekend before striking a license agreement with Netflix.

Ikedieze and Iheme originally played Aki and Pawpaw in the 2002 film Aki Na Ukwa.
They have become Nollywood household names, funny memes, and Nigerian pop culture icons more than 20 years later.
