Novemba Named Apple Music Up Next Artist in Nigeria

Singer-songwriter Novemba has been named the newest featured artist in Apple Music’s Up Next artist development program in Nigeria.

By Omotayo Olutekunbi

Novemba was born and raised in Port-Harcourt, Nigeria, and as a young child, he rapidly took comfort in writing down his ideas. This eventually led to his penning songs, which he subsequently performed, where he discovered he was fully at home on stage. But it wasn’t until the release of his first, R&B-infused, three-track EP, “Truly Novemba” (2020), that he really started to gain attention from the music business. His follow-up EP, “Novian Universe” (2021), which featured the single “Fake Vibe,” showed that he wasn’t just a one-trick pony.

His eagerly awaited six-track EP, “Escapade” (2022), which can be streamed on Apple Music, clocks in at a punch-packing 16 minutes and is led by the seductive single “Ewo,” is able to appropriately portray the complicated complexity of Novemba’s day-to-day experiences with great lyrical talent.

The new sensation commented on the news:

“I’m so honoured to be chosen as an Apple Music Up Next artist. Big love to Apple Music for supporting and encouraging young artists such as myself and ensuring that lives far and nigh are influenced greatly through music,” he tells Apple Music.

Novemba will be on Apple Music’s Nigeria’s Up Next playlist as the newest Up Next talent to be featured in Nigeria. The carefully chosen new and upcoming artists on the Up Next playlist were selected by Apple Music editors from all across the world. The genre-neutral playlist features a collection of musicians that our global editors are keen to introduce to a wider audience.

Novemba is the latest addition to Apple Music’s expanding roster of Up Next Artists from Nigeria, which also includes Ogranya, Majeed, Khaid, Ninety, Young Jonn, T.I. Blaze, Browny Pondis, Ajebo Hustlers, Jaido P, Wavy The Creator, and SGaWD.
