Tinubu Speaks About Documents Of Drug Dealing, Money Laundry Case

“It resurfaced before the primary (presidential) and now again. It is nothing new. It’s dead. It’s as dead as a dodo,” he said.

Bola Tinubu finally spoke out about the infamous documents that purportedly link the presidential hopeful to both corruption and crime.

After being reportedly unsealed by the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, several documents that allegedly accused Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, of drug trafficking and money laundering in the US, have reappeared.

Information concerning Tinubu’s purported indictment in connection with drug dealings and the receipt of illicit funds while in the United States was revealed in the published papers.

The 56-page document, which was made public by the district court’s administrative office, supported the long-held belief that Tinubu would be found guilty of drug crimes in the US, especially in light of the discovery that he surrendered up to $460,000 to American authorities in 1993.

The media, according to Tinubu spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, “recycling the news even when it’s nothing new,”  he claimed in an interview on Tuesday, November 9, 2022, evening.

Bayo said “it’s dead as dodo (roasted plantain) wondering why you journalists will continue to do the story.

“It resurfaced before the primary (presidential) and now again. It is nothing new. It’s dead. It’s as dead as a dodo,” he said.

The US government never publicly found Tinubu guilty of these charges even though he was a resident of the country at the time the offenses were committed. In 1999 to 2007 he served as Lagos State Governor after returning to Nigeria and ascending to the country’s high political class. Neither did the United States attempt to extradite him. (Remember the Hushpuppi and Abba Kyari case?)

It is said that the 70-year-old presidential candidate signed a plea bargain in a drug trafficking and money laundering case in Chicago, USA, where he willingly decided to relinquish his assets to American authorities in 1993 rather than go to trial.

All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu is accused of trafficking in drugs, according to former presidential candidate and APC veteran Adamu Garba, who claims the evidence “no longer stands.” The opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was criticized by Garba for supposedly being responsible for the “re-circulation” of Tinubu’s drug trafficking charge by a U.S. court.
