In connection with a shooting in 2021, the American rapper A$AP Rocky has been charged with assault and firearm possession.
The musician was accused of physically using a handgun and was charged with two counts of assault with a semiautomatic weapon, according to PageSix.
“Discharging a gun in a public place is a serious offense that could have ended with tragic consequences not only for the person targeted but also for innocent bystanders visiting Hollywood,” Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón said.
Rocky was detained in April and accused of assault with a dangerous object.
The rapper is being looked into by the LAPD for allegedly taking part in a gunshot on November 6.
Police said that after a dispute between “two acquaintances,” the defendant shot the victim with a revolver. The suspect and two other men fled the scene on foot after the shooting.
The rapper was later named as the suspect by authorities.
After being detained in Sweden in 2019, the rapper first encountered legal issues.
He was detained because he got into a brawl with some accused drug users in front of everyone.
He characterized his experience in prison as “extremely challenging and humiliating” in an interview.
He spent a month in prison.
