YouTube’s lite version, YouTube Go, will be discontinued.

The news was revealed in a blog post published last week by the streaming service.

Users will be able to experience upgrades to the main app thanks to the new migration, according to the business.

“When we launched YouTube Go in 2016, it was designed for viewers in locations where connectivity, data prices, and low-end devices prevented us from delivering the best experience in the main YouTube app. Since then, YouTube has invested in improvements to the main YouTube app that make it perform better in these environments, while also delivering a better user experience which is inclusive of our entire community,” an excerpt from the post reads.

YouTube Go was initially offered in regions like as India and Indonesia, where consumers were unable to use the regular app owing to poor networks and high data charges. The lite version allowed users to download videos to watch offline and degrade video quality by changing the MB limit.

YouTube’s primary app has gotten better over time. Users may now operate the software on slower networks, and plans are in the works to aid individuals with restricted bandwidth.
