Nora Awolowo, a Nigerian director, has released the official trailer for her latest film, ‘Baby Blues (Trials of Childbirth)’.
The moving documentary follows the stories of different Nigerian women as they share their experiences with postpartum depression, a mental illness that affects moms after they give child.
“One of the biggest myths about motherhood is that the mother falls head over heels in love with their newly born. That’s often not the case,” Awolowo wrote on Instagram.
“I documented the stories of different women in Nigeria who have experienced postpartum depression and excited to share the trailer.”
Awolowo shot and directed the film, which was produced by Otigba Ella.
Meanwhile, Awolowo is rumored to be directing a FIFA documentary film. Lota Chukwu, an actress, confirmed the filmmaker’s involvement in the soon-to-be-released picture in a tweet on Wednesday, October 28.
