Rema’s “Calm Down” remix reportedly sold more than 1 million sales in the United States, earning it an RIAA platinum plaque, according to a tweet from his fan account.

Selena Gomez’s appearance in the popular remix, which peaked at No. 6 on the UK singles chart and No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100, has achieved significant international success.

The main single from Rema’s debut album “Raves & Roses,” which was released in February 2022, went on to become one of the year’s top-grossing Afrobeats tracks.

The song has received over a billion plays across all platforms, and after breaking CKay’s “Love Nwantitiprevious “‘s record, it has now become the most-watched Nigerian music video on YouTube.

Rema will now be able to add the RIAA platinum plaque to his collection, joining CKay, Wizkid, and Burna Boy as leading musicians from Nigeria.
