On Wednesday, Nigeria recorded a new high of 4,035 new COVID-19 infections in 15 states, nearly double the 2,123 infections recorded the day before.

With 3,393 instances, Lagos State maintained its lead on the table, up from 1,552 cases on Tuesday. It has 89,355 infections as of Wednesday.
Rivers (260), Edo (62), Akwa Ibom (42), Kaduna (39), and Ekiti (38) are the other states (38). Each of Delta and Kano had 31 new illnesses.
Ogun State reported 30 new infections, while Abia had 26, Bauchi had 15, Ondo had 14, Enugu had nine, and Kwara had seven.
Nigeria also confirmed two associated fatalities, according to the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), which raised the fatality number from 2,989 on Tuesday to 2,991 on Wednesday.
It also reported that the 4,035 illnesses on Wednesday brought Nigeria’s total to 231,413 infections, with 211,853 people treated and released.
Since the virus’s announcement on Feb. 27, 2020, Nigeria has tested 3,751,696 samples, according to the report.
