By Omotayo Olutekunbi
Joeboy is one of the Nigerian singers that has taken Afrobeats to the worldwide arena, and his success is likely to continue with the release of his highly awaited second album.
‘Body & Soul,’ released on May 19, 2023, is Joeboy’s second album following the release of his first album, ‘Somewhere Between Beauty & Magic,’ in 2021.
Joeboy has continuously shown his value in music with hit songs, successful collaborations, and sold-out gigs worldwide. He just passed the 2 billion streaming barrier in his career, and the ‘Body & Soul Album’ will likely consolidate his status as an industry leader.
‘Body & Soul’ has 15 tracks spanning Pop, R&B, Amapiano, and House. The publication of lead singles ‘Alcohol,’ ‘Contour,’ ‘Body & Soul,’ and ‘Duffel Bag’ preceded the album’s release.
Guest appearances on the album included BNXN, Oxlade, CKay, Odumodu Blvck, Kemena, Ludacris, and Oli Ekun, who gave an interlude.
Joeboy embraces his lover boy character in ‘Body & Soul,’ promising love that comes with a good time but also getting up close and personal to tackle the difficulties that come with success.
As part of the album’s marketing, Joeboy has announced a ‘Body & Soul’ tour in the United Kingdom, his first UK headlining tour, which will run from June 17th to June 25th.
‘Body & Soul’ is now available for streaming across all platforms, and listeners can enjoy the spectacular album that will remind fans of Joeboy’s standing as one of Afrobeats’ best talents.
