
The Vice Chancellor of the University of Nigeria Nsukka (UNN), Prof. Charles Igwe, stated during a pre-convocation press briefing on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, that 288 students will graduate with First Class Honours in the upcoming 51st Convocation of the university.
4,853 and 5,077 graduates, respectively, will obtain 2nd Class Upper Division and 2nd Class Lower Division out of a total of 11,444 degrees to be granted.
In addition, 616 degrees will stay Unclassified, seven students will obtain Passes, and 653 students will receive Third Class awards.
Graduates from traditionally unclassified disciplines including veterinary medicine, pharmacy, and medicine are included in the Unclassified category.

A total of 67 diplomas, comprising seven Distinctions, 35 Credits, 22 Merits, and three Passes, will be given out at the convocation.
There will also be an additional 88 postgraduate diplomas given out.
In addition, the University will award 1,451 postgraduate certificates and degrees, 479 of which will be doctorates and 884 master’s degrees.
The University will bestow honorary doctorates on four well-known Nigerians.
The degrees of Doctor of Business Administration (Honoris Causa) and Doctor of Public Administration (Honoris Causa) will be given to Mrs. Nneka Onyeali-Ikpe, Managing Director of Fidelity Bank PLC, and Mr. Ogbonnaya Onovo, former Inspector General of Police. Major-General J. O. J. Okoloagu (Rtd) and Mr. Ugochukwu Weli are among the other beneficiaries; they will both be granted Honorary Doctorates in Public Administration (Honoris Causa).
