Nigeria Stops Training of Pharmaceutical Technologists

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on Wednesday by the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) and the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) to begin working together to address concerns regarding pharmaceutical technician training in Nigerian polytechnics and other institutions.

The signing ceremony, which was held at the Federal Ministry of Education’s headquarters, demonstrated the dedication of all those involved.

Dr. Tanko Sununu, the State Minister for Education, presided over the signing. The Federal Ministry of Education’s Permanent Secretary and other Ministry Directors were there when the incident occurred.

The two parties have agreed in the Memorandum of Understanding to only accredit and train National Diploma in Pharmacy Technicians.

The Federal Ministry of Education’s leadership was commended by the Registrar/CEO of PCN and the Executive Secretary of NBTE for helping to facilitate and resolve the 22-year-old dispute.

They said that the accomplishment is a defining feature of the administration’s revitalised hope agenda, which is being guided by the Federal Ministries of Health and Education’s laser-like focus.
