Nigerian megastar Burna Boy picked up the Best African Act honor at the 2022 MTV European Music Awards on November 13, 2022.

Ayra Starr, Black Sheriff, Tems, Zuchu, and Musa Keyz were nominated alongside Burna Boy.
Seventeen won the Best New Act award over Tems. Additionally, DJ Spinall from Nigeria played at the awards ceremony, which took place in Düsseldorf, Germany.
