‘Bridgerton’ Season 3 Will Focus On Colin And Penelope’s Relationship 

Bridgerton Season 3 is set to begin filming this summer.

The third season of Netflix’s massively popular Regency-era romance, Bridgerton, will centre on the love tale between her character Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), the namesake family’s third brother.

Colin and Penelope will face a difficult task in Season 3. Eloise (Claudia Jesse), Penelope’s best friend and Colin’s sister, found that Pen was behind the Lady Whistledown gossip sheet that had recently printed potentially damaging material about her at the end of Season 2. Colin’s revelation of this knowledge is pivotal in the Colin and Penelope-centric novel Romancing Mr. Bridgerton, so it’ll be fascinating to watch how these two narrative lines intertwine in the next season, and how Penelope emerges from the hole she’s dug for herself.

Colin, on the other hand, has some maturing to do. He informs several friends that he would “never court Penelope Featherington” in one of the season’s last moments, which Penelope herself overhears. Newton believes the statement was made in jest and was not malicious. Despite Marina’s marriage to Sir Philip Crane, Colin will need to adapt his priorities this season, since he visited her onetime sweetheart Marina (Ruby Barker) in Season 2.

Fans of the Bridgerton novels are likely surprised by the romance theme for Season 3. An Offer From a Gentleman, the third novel in the series, centred on Benedict (Luke Thompson), the second Bridgerton brother, falling in love with Sophie Beckett in a Cinderella-esque love story. Fans of “Benophie” should be rewarded for their patience in Season 4 when we witness charming, romantic artist Benedict finally find love.
