Tonto Dikeh, a Nollywood actress, has criticised her colleagues who have begun campaigning for politicians ahead of the general elections in 2023.

On Monday, May 23, 2022, the movie star ridiculed celebrities who have become devoted to the same politicians she was accused of supporting during the #EndSars protest in 2020 on her Instagram page.

“Am confused. Isn’t it the same #EndSars celebrities campaigning for the same people they accused me of working with against #EndSars???” she wrote.

“Internet people pay attention to the noise after the noise. Political money is not your mate.”

Tonto isn’t the first star to criticise other celebrities’ relationships with politicians before of elections.

It will be noted that reality TV actress Ifuennada lambasted her colleagues who aim to profit off Nigerian politicians’ generosity.

“Thunder will fire any celebrity that collects money to campaign for useless candidates in the forthcoming elections. We must all put greed aside and do what is right for once,” she wrote.

“Lots of you go on vacation to exotic countries – countries that have a good working system. I’m sure if you’re non-Nigerian, Nigeria will be the last place you’d want to vacation because of how everything is m*ssed up.”

In 2020, prominent Nollywood actress Iyabo Ojo swore never to advocate for any member of the two reigning parties. Which she said during the end sars protests.

“I Alice Iyabo Ojo, will never support, campaign, or vote for any APC or PDP member ever again in my life even if you are my family or friend, we need a New Nigeria Flag of Nigeria, we need to stop recycling Universal recycling symbol #EndBadGoverance,” she tweeted.
