Award-winning singer-songwriter H.E.R. teams up with Nigerian superstar Asake for a captivating collaboration.
The song has been reworked to highlight the vocal prowess and lyrical skills of both stars as they sing a ballad about what it takes to succeed and how to maintain focus along the way.
Juan Felipe of Blank Square Productions directed a simple ensemble-style video to go along with the “Lonely At The Top” remix EP.
This new song follows the news that Asake has been nominated for his first Grammy in the Best African Music Performance category for his song “Amapiano,” which features YBNL founder and renowned Afrobeats artist Olamide.
The original “Lonely At The Top,” which can be found on Asake’s most recent album, “Work of Art,” is the longest-charting No. 1 song on TurnTable Top 100 and the first song to ever receive 100 million streams on Audiomack.
The Grammy nomination is evidence of Asake’s incredible year, which also included headline performances at the O2 Arena and Barclays Center as well as nominations for the MTV VMA and MTV EMA Awards.
He has been putting on thrilling live performances all year long at venues all over the world, such as Afronation Miami, Broccoli City Festival, Rosendal Garden Party in Sweden, and more.
Over the course of five years, H.E.R. has had an amazing journey marked by inspirational projects and accolades that have catapulted her into superstar status. She has received 25 Grammy nominations and five wins to date, as well as an Academy Award and an Emmy.
