Bello is the women’s preferred candidate, citing his successes as governor of Kogi.

Some ladies from Nigeria’s 19 northern states have pledged their support for the 2023 presidential aspiration of Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi.
The Yahaya Bello Network (YBN) made this known to Bello on Tuesday when they paid him a visit at the Kogi State Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
Hajiya Hadiza Ahmed, the YBN’s Chairperson, stated that of all those who have expressed interest in running for President in 2023, Bello is their chosen candidate because of his achievements as governor of Kogi.
Many Nigerians, including the YBN, have urged Bello to run for president, citing his achievements and considering him as the finest choice to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari in 2023.
Bello, she added, has demonstrated good leadership in his state, which she claimed can be witnessed in various areas.
She also praised Bello for being the country’s most young and women-friendly governor, a distinction that has garnered him several international and national accolades.
“We are here to call on the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency, Gov. Yahaya Bello, to answer our call as a youth to be our next President in 2023.
“Bello understands the needs of youth and women because he interfaces and work with them.
“Under his administration, youths and women are very involved, which is what we want to be brought to the national level, because that is what Nigerians are also clamouring for in 2023.
“The example has already been set in Kogi State and we are sure he will do it when he becomes President in 2023.”
Bello responded by thanking the gathering for believing he was the best candidate to succeed Buhari in 2023.
Bello said he has agreed to run for President in 2023 with them, pledging not to let them down.
“I am very happy to receive you women today, and you are the first group I am receiving in 2022, calling on me to run as President.
“Since last year, a lot of groups have been calling on me to run for President and today, I have accepted your call and I promise not to disappoint you and all of Nigerians,” he said.
Bello stated that, just as his administration has worked to unify Kogi, he will work to unite, secure, and safe Nigeria.
