Ayra Starr Rated One Of The Best Talents To Watch Out For By Shazam

Shazam released their predictions 2022 playlist on January 4, 2022, highlighting five musicians that will make a mark in 2022. Ayra Starr, a Nigerian singer and MAVIN artist, is one of them.

Shazam wrote that in their extract, “Ayra Starr’s rise this year was largely mounted on her breakout track “Bloody Samaritan,” which had its first Shazam in Lagos. It was released as the lead single of the Nigerian singer-songwriter’s debut album 19 & Dangerous, but took on a life of its own as listeners were drawn in by an alluring violin melody that drops into contagious Afropop magic.

“An undeniable jam, “Bloody Samaritan” was the most Shazamed song by a local female artist in Nigeria this year—an impressive accomplishment considering it came out only in July.”

Starr has emerged from anonymity in the last year to release the Ayra Starr EP, 19 and Dangerous and the single “Bloody Samaritan.”

The 50-track playlist was hand-selected by Apple Music’s worldwide editorial team and is based on Shazam’s unique predictive data and algorithms. It includes songs that exhibit early signs of future development, such as early and consistent Shazam activity, as well as discovery in more than one nation.

With developing musicians from 25 nations representing 17 genres ranging from mandopop to regional mexicano and hip-hop hybrids, the playlist is incredibly broad and eclectic.
