The Abia State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal in Umuahia dismissed the Peoples Democratic Party’s petition against Governor Alex Otti and the Labour Party on Friday.
The tribunal presided over by Hon. Justice H. T. D. Gwadah ruled that the petitioners, including the PDP, failed on their three grounds, leading to the dismissal of their petitions for lack of merit.
The dismissal was based on three grounds: Otti’s alleged non-qualification to contest, non-membership in the LP, and lack of an authentic NYSC certificate, as well as failure to prove corrupt practises.
The tribunal is currently reviewing the All Progressives Congress’ petition against the Labour Party.
