Maria Chike Benjamin, a former Big Brother Naija housemate, has tested positive for the dangerous coronavirus.
On Wednesday, December 8, 2021, the reality TV actress made the announcement via her Instagram Stories.
“My heartbeats, I heard you were all concerned about me. Thank you so much for all your kind messages. Unfortunately, I have tested positive to COVID-19 but I can reassure you, I am doing really well,” she wrote.
“I initially had a negative result from Dubai less than 24 hours of coming into Ghana. Upon arrival in Ghana, I tested positive and was asked to quarantine.”
“I got a different doctor that tested me negative again. We had so many back and forth results of positives and negatives. But finally, I have tested positive.”
The reality star’s positive test comes only days after she was arrested in Ghana for violating the covid-19 restrictions.
She said she was being held in captivity against her choice at the time, and she threatened to lose her cool with Ghanaian authorities.
The housemate in the ‘Shine Ya Eye’ program expressed her disappointment, outrage, pain, and humiliation over the situation.
“To say I am disappointed, upset, hurt, and humiliated by the system is an understatement, please don’t make me lose my cool. won’t be pretty please.” Maria wrote on her Instagram.
