The Men’s Club would soon be available on Prime Video.
The popular romantic drama series returns for its fourth season, following Aminu, Louis, Tayo, and Lanre as they encounter many unforeseen hurdles in their quest for success in love, work, friendship, and family.
The synopsis reads, “As they navigate the ups and downs of external relationships, the boys grapple with their own issues, including career setbacks, family tensions and the pitfalls of fame, the season is full of emotional twists and turns. Will they emerge stronger together or will the ships hit an iceberg and sink? This season promises to be the most intense yet!”
Despite the public outcry in 2021, Pere Egbi will play Aminu in the highly anticipated forthcoming season, replacing Ayoola Ayolola.
Following the outcry, the show’s primary writer, Dami Elebe, issued a Twitter message explaining the decision to recast Ayolola’s character.
“It’s not our fault that the actor relocated – without telling us if I may add – and I don’t want the people – including me – who are working hard to give an amazing show be made to feel bad by the fans we absolutely love and are doing our best for,” she wrote.
Ayolola eventually came to Instagram to refute previous reports that he departed the program without alerting the production crew, leaving them with no option but to hire a replacement.
“Contrary to what was said, I did not relocate without letting the executive producers and producers of the show know,” the actor wrote. “My decision to make a ‘temporary’ move out of the country was a long thought out process in which the producer/my manager at the time was aware of and involved in. With that being said, I cannot wait to be back on your screens again.”
Baaj Adebule, Efa Iwara, Daniel Etim Effiong, Nengi Adoki, Linda Osifo, Ibrahim Suleiman, Rahama Sadau, Sharon Ooja, Sola Sobowale, and Shaffy Bello return for Season 4.
The first episode of the program, created by Tola Odunsi, has received over 1 million views and has won various honors, including the Gage Award for the best online series of 2020 and the HAP honors (Hollywood & African Prestigious Awards) 2021 for best African series.
The Men’s Club will launch exclusively on Prime Video On June 30, 2023.
