Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State has pledged his government’s support and partnership with the management of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in Enugu.
The assurance was given during a courtesy visit by NTA Enugu Zonal Director, Nwadi Elobuike, and her management team to the Governor at the Government House, Enugu, on Wednesday.
The governor emphasized his administration’s commitment to rebranding the former capital of the defunct Eastern Nigeria and the headquarters of the South-East Zone through collaborations with grassroots media outlets like NTA.
The governor emphasizes his commitment to partnering with development agencies and service providers to achieve Enugu State’s economic goals. Objectives include eradicating poverty, transitioning to a private sector-driven $30 billion economy, empowering youth, and enhancing education. The governor sees collaboration with institutions like NTA as vital for state programs.
Governor Mbah highlights his administration’s innovative financing approach, aiming to boost internal revenue to fulfill campaign promises. He stated that the government is moving away from inherited revenue methods and is utilizing natural resources and digital transformation for efficient operations.
Initiatives include speedy approval for Certificates of Occupancy, e-ticketing in transportation, and timely water delivery as part of the 180-day commitment.
The governor announced the launch of 81 road rehabilitation projects starting Thursday, with immediate commencement. Additionally, the pilot scheme for 260 smart schools across the state will be operational next week.
NTA Enugu’s Director, Nwadi Elobuike, praised Governor Mbah for initiating impactful projects in Enugu State within his first 100 days in office. She highlighted challenges faced by the station, including limited operational hours and reliance on digital platforms due to power issues.
Elobuike appealed for the governor’s support, particularly in providing solar power solutions to enhance the station’s operations and restore its excellence.
