Fireboy, the afrobeats sensation, returns with a new track that tries to bring some aural diversity to the soundscape.
By Omotayo Olutekunbi
Fireboy has certainly made a name for himself in the Nigerian music industry with his rapid rise to the top. His hit single ‘Peru’ featuring Ed Sheeran, has become one of the biggest Afrobeats songs in the streaming era. After a slow start to 2023, Fireboy is set to return with a new spicy record.
Fireboy released his latest single, titled ‘Someone’ on April 4, 2023; the song combines Electronic Dance Elements and percussions, perfect for a dance record. Known for his exceptional songwriting skills, ‘Someone’ tells the story of a hopeless romantic facing the unbearable reality of losing the woman he loves.
Fireboy’s unique vocals deliver a charged Pop performance that stands out in the current Afrobeats soundscape dominated by Amapiano.
This is Fireboy’s first release in 2023, and it follows his contribution to the ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever album soundtrack. ‘Someone’ is available for streaming on all platforms, and Fireboy hopes it will reestablish his place in the music industry and become his latest hit since ‘Bandana’ featuring Asake.
