ECOWAS Travel Certificates Replaced by Biometric Cards – Immigration
Mr Mohammed Babandede, the Controller-General of the Immigration Service ( CGIS), has said that the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) travel certificates will be replaced by biometric cards in the near future.
Assistant Controller (AC) Amos Okpu, the Nigeria Immigration Service’s (NIS) recently appointed spokesman, confirmed the proposal to the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos on Monday.
Individual data would be connected to the new biometric card, according to Okpu, a feature that the ECOWAS travel certificate lacks.
“The new biometric card will hold all of the user’s information.
