Burna Boy Is Set To Release Documentary For Single, ‘Whiskey’
Burna Boy, the afrobeats superstar, will soon release a documentary-style music video for his hit “Whiskey.”
By Omotayo Olutekunbi
Burna Boy’s sixth album, “Love, Damini,” was released in July 2022 and included the song “Whiskey,” in which he called attention to the climate in his hometown of Port Harcourt, Nigeria.
Burna Boy tweeted a trailer for the documentary he plans to broadcast on Thursday, December 8, 2022, on Wednesday, December 7, 2022.
The documentary will focus on how oil extraction has caused the Niger Delta’s ecosystem to deteriorate, with the most recent issue being the region’s soot problem.
Burna Boy has been a vocal supporter of the Niger Delta’s residents and has used his music to bring attention to the region’s predicament. He included the song “Monsters You Made” from his Grammy-winning album “Twice As Tall” which underlined the militancy brought on by years of neglect and broken promises.
‘Whiskey’ is the latest song by Burna Boy to promote justice and equality in Nigeria.
