Since Spotify joined the Nigerian music market in February 2021, it has gained a lot of traction among the country’s sizable young population. Customers in Nigeria’s Gen Z, who are actively influencing music consumption habits in the country’s music business, have taken a shine to it thanks to its distinctive playlist and open data.
The most recent statistics from Spotify reveal that the enormous support of Gen Z customers contributed to the success of the most popular songs on Spotify in 2022. The top 5 artists that Nigerian Gen Z users stream the most on Spotify are, according to the company.

In what is a crucial contribution to the digital evolution of Afrobeats, this ranking clearly demonstrates a preference for indigenous music.
