Enugu State Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has announced his administration’s openness to accept a proposal by HP Kapital Limited, a British corporation, to join with Adoration Ministry Enugu to develop a 500-bed university hospital in the state.
Three factories, a waste management plant, and other facilities will be developed on the grounds of the Adoration Centre in Enugu, in addition to the hospital.
On Monday, Ejike Mbaka, the ministry’s spiritual director, escorted Nandishwar Kaushal, the Group Chairman of HP Kapital Limited, and his team to see the governor at Government House in Enugu.
The purpose of the visit was to formally tell the governor of their plans to renovate the adoration center into a multipurpose facility that would include a world quality university hospital with specialized medical services.
A helipad and air ambulance, as well as a five-star hotel, entertainment center, and convention center, are all scheduled to be accessible at the complex.
The group also asked the governor for help in obtaining land for the project, stating that they intend to construct an energy plant to manage garbage and transform it to income.
Three factories would be erected in the region, employing around 600 locals who would be educated by 40 engineers from outside the nation, among other advantages to the state and local community.
Mr. Ugwuanyi responded by expressing satisfaction at the project action plan, saying it was in keeping with his administration’s successes in creating jobs for the young and delivering quality and inexpensive healthcare services to both urban and rural people of the state.
Recognizing Mr. Mbaka’s accomplishments, the governor emphasized that his government would continue to support and promote any enterprise that will generate employment and contribute value to the state’s economy and people’s living standards.
“I want to assure and reassure you that the Enugu State Government will do all that is required, giving our limited resources, to assist you”, he said.
Nandishwar Kaushal, the group chairman of HP Kapital Limited, told Mr Ugwuanyi earlier in his speech that the university hospital would be affiliated with “your university here (ESUT) and AU University in Britain,” and that “the degrees that will be issued will be in collaboration with your university and AU British University.”
Apart from medical, Mr Kaushal said the firm expects to have an initial strength of 7,500 students in a variety of curricula, adding that “staff accommodation would be 2,500 individuals” locally and overseas.
As part of the firm’s corporate social obligation to the host communities, the chairwoman stated that the corporation will assist the poor and the less fortunate.
“10 per cent of all beds, no matter the cost of the bill, we will treat those patients for free so far those persons are registered citizens of Enugu State,” he revealed.
“The generation to come will know that this project came to be in Gburugburu’s (Governor Ugwuanyi’s) time,” Mr Mbaka said.
He added: “The HP Kapital Limited is not just coming as a mono entrepreneurial team; we are partnering with them. It is a holistic partnership between them and the adoration ministry.
“All you have suggested are in tandem with our vision and mission. More so when you talked about the charitable dimension and how this will be beneficial to the inherent resident community; it is part and parcel of our dream.”
