Asake Takes Home Best African Artist Award at 2023 VGMAs (Check Out the Full List of Winners) 

Nigerian singer Asake has been named Best African Artist at the 2023 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards

The Vodafone Ghana Music Awards were held in Accra on May 6, 2023, to commemorate the achievements of Ghanaian musicians and the music business in the preceding year.

Nigerian superstar pipped other Nigerian heavyweights Burna Boy, Asake, Kizz Daniel, and Ayra Starr to the Best African Artist prize, which also had newcomers The Therapist and Cameroonian-American singer Libianca in contention.

Mayorkun, a Nigerian hitmaker, received Best Collaboration for contributing to Camidoh’s ‘Sugarcane’ remix.

For his huge single ‘Kwaku The Hustler,’ hip hop singer Black Sherif won the prize for Best Artist and Most Popular Song.
