A group of pastors and bishops from Abuja have declared their support for Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the All Progressives Congress, APC’s presidential candidate, ahead of the 2023 presidential election.
This information was disclosed in a statement that Apostle Babatunde Oguntimehin and Rev. Friday Obi, the national president, and secretary, respectively, jointly signed on Sunday, November 6, 2022.
According to the religious leaders that make up the Nigerian Coalition of Pastors for Good Leadership, it would not be fair for Nigerians to sacrifice Tinubu’s qualifications on the altar of the divisive Muslim-Muslim ticket.
The organization said that choosing candidates based primarily on their religion or other beliefs would never benefit the country and that good leadership cannot be sacrificed for the sake of a particular religion or ethnic community.
The APC has provided an explanation for Tinubu’s absence from the Arise TV town hall gathering as its presidential contender.
The Tinubu/Shettima Presidential Campaign Council’s (PCC) Festus Keyamo released a statement late on Sunday.
The former governor of Lagos was unable to attend due to his busy schedule, according to the Minister of Labor and Employment.
Keyamo pointed out that other radio and television networks in Nigeria have expressed interest in holding such discussions.
He said that out of respect for them, Tinubu wouldn’t choose which networks he appeared on while ignoring others.
