Stephanie Linus has been named a juror at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York in 2023.
She joins Mark Duplass, Adam Goldberg, Alexandra Pelosi, and Ryan White on the five-person jury for the Documentary feature film. For the 2023 edition, these jury members will pick winning entries in the cinema, immersive, gaming, and audio storytelling categories.
On joining the jury, the Nigerian actress and filmmaker said, “It is such an exciting festival with many voices amplified, especially women’s voices. It has given a platform for both new and seasoned filmmakers to showcase their works. I am having a great time reviewing the shortlisted films and recommending winners for the 2023 Tribeca Festival.”
Linus is recognized for her highly praised and award-winning works in front of and behind the camera, including her groundbreaking film Dry, which addresses issues with the girl-child and women’s rights.
The festival began on June 7, 2023, with the documentary Kiss the Future, which chronicles an underground society that worked and produced throughout Sarajevo’s almost four-year siege.
The 2023 program, founded 21 years ago by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal, and Craig Hatkoff, contains 109 films from 27 directors from 36 nations.
The festival will conclude on June 18, 2023, with a showing of Robert De Niro’s directorial debut, A Bronx Tale, and a post-screening discussion.
