Rema has garnered enormous international success after the release of his smash track “Calm Down.” The breakthrough remix with Selena Gomez catapulted him to global stardom, appearing on several charts worldwide.
Rema has been the first artist to top the first Middle Eastern and North Africa (MENA) chart with his tune “Calm Down.”
The track, released in February 2022 ahead of Rema’s first album ‘Raves & Roses,’ has become one of history’s most successful Afrobeats exports.
The tune had previously topped the Indian Music Industry Chart in 2023. With a number 6 entry, it also set a new record for the highest-ranking African single on the Billboard Hot 100.
Several trophies have been awarded to the ‘Calm Down’ remix around Europe. It has been honored with a Diamond plaque in France and plaques in Italy, Germany, Switzerland, and Spain. It has also received platinum awards in the United States and the United Kingdom.
‘Calm Down’ has become the most-watched Afrobeats song on YouTube in Nigeria, with over 2 billion plays across all platforms.
