Oxlade’s ‘Kulosa’ Attains Diamond Certificate in France

Tik Tok has propelled some Afrobeats songs to international success, such as Oxlade’s Colors Studios performance ‘Kulosa’, which saw users massively recreate parts of the music video, promoting the song to global success.

Oxlade’s ‘Kulosa’ has been certified diamond by French music certification body SNEP after receiving over 50,000,000 streams in France.

The single was released in June 2022 and distributed by Epic Records. France particularly pushed Oxlade to international success, where it peaked at No. 18 on the SNEP chart and finished at No. 141 at the end of the year.

During a live recording of the Zero Conditions Podcast in December 2023, Oxlade described how the audience erupted when he performed the song at Wizkid’s Accor Arena concert in France.

The music video that sparked the social media challenge has received more than 80 million views on YouTube. Oxlade also featured Cuban pop star Camilla Cabello on the remix, which contributed to driving the song to international success.

Oxlade’s ‘Kulosa’, which has over 287 million Spotify streams, joins Burna Boy’s ‘Last Last’, Ayra Starr’s ‘Rush’, and Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ as Afrobeats songs to be certified diamond in France.
