Folarin Falana, better known by his stage as Falz, responded to Babajide Sanwo-tweet Olu’s of gratitude for being re-elected as governor of Lagos State.
Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude to Lagosians in a statement he shared on his official Twitter account on Monday, March 20.
He wrote, “I’m deeply humbled and grateful for the overwhelming support and trust of the good people of Lagos State. I’m honored to be re-elected as your governor and pledge to continue to work tirelessly to deliver a better Lagos for all. Thank you for believing in me.”
The musician responded by quoting the tweet and asserting that everyone was aware of the anomalies in the election and that the governor chose himself.
“You were not re-elected. You selected yourself. Everybody saw it unfold. You are only deceiving yourselves,” he wrote.
Since the EndSARS campaign, which saw the destruction of several homes and lives, Falz has been a vociferous opponent of the Sanwo-Olu-led regime. It was expected that he would not support the two-term governor in the recently held election.
