Nollywood star Olanrewaju Omiyinka, also known as Baba Ijesha, has been designated a sex offender by the Lagos State government.

A Lagos State court recently sentenced Baba Ijesha to 16 years in jail for sexually abusing a juvenile.

The disgraced actor was added to the state’s list of sexual offenders, according to Punch, by the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency.

On Thursday, July 14, 2022, Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Ikeja Domestic Violence and Sexual Offences Court sentenced the disgraced star to jail.

Justice Taiwo gave the ruling, noting that the prosecution had not proven the defendant’s guilt of all the accusations against him beyond a reasonable doubt.

On two of the six charges brought against the defendant, she did, however, find him guilty.

On April 22, 2021, Baba Ijesha was taken into custody after the Lagos State Police Command confirmed his arrest for allegedly sexually abusing a 14-year-old girl under Princess’ care.

Numerous pieces of evidence were presented to the court regarding the actor’s sexual assault of the young kid, making this case one of the most well-publicized celebrity court cases in Nigerian history.

Olabisi Ajayi-Kayode, a child forensic specialist, submitted a forensic report at the Special Offenses Court in Ikeja.
