A spin-off television series from the Netflix movie will shortly start preproduction, according to director Kunle Afolayan.

Kunle Afolayan has announced there would be a spin-off series for his recent Netflix hit Anikulapo, which should delight fans even more.
Afolayan said that although the movie was initially planned to be a series, it was instead made as an audience test during an Instagram live chat with the actors.
Anikulapo, which is set in the historical Oyo kingdom, centers on the aspirations of a young man for fame and money. The October 1 release of the Netflix original, starring Kunle Remi, Bimbo Ademoye, Sobowale, and an impressive array of seasoned Yoruba-language cinema actors, was met with immediate praise from reviewers and moviegoers.
Additionally, the movie had a strong top-10 position in more than five nations, including the Bahamas, Kenya, Nigeria, and the United Kingdom.
