Lagos Ranks 19th Out of 50 Best Cities in 2024, Beats Miami, Dubai and Beijing 

Lagos has been ranked as the 19th best city to visit in the world, according to Time Out, a British media and hospitality company that publishes guides and magazines.

South Africa’s Cape town, Nigeria’s Lagos and Ghana’s Accra were the only African cities that featured on the list.

Cape Town secured the second spot, Lagos ranked 19th, and Accra claimed the 44th position on the list.

The outcome was derived from a global survey of over 20,000 urban residents and its editorial network.

Affordability and quality of food, a thriving nightlife, cultural diversity, the city’s overall emotional impact, a sense of community, accessibility to green areas and historical sites, and more are among the evaluation criteria.

Vancouver comes in at number fifty on the list, with New York City at the top. Time Out claims that it collaborated with the research company Potentia Insight to improve the quality of the survey.

Time Out says, that whether you’re a staunch mainlander or from Lekki, there’s something for everyone in Lagos, Africa’s most populous city. Posh Victoria Island continues to deliver a trifecta of swanky resorts, food haunts, and nightlife. Maple Lagos in Lekki, Kuti’s Bistro in Ikeja, ‘Obi’s House’ and Hard Rock Cafe Lagos are just a few of the places where you can experience unfiltered enjoyment.

“When it comes to the standard of living, Lagos has a lot going for it – 96 percent of locals are happy, 98 percent would call Lagos beautiful, and the city got a 92 percent friendliness rating,” the magazine says.
