President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Nyesom Wike and Dave Umahi, the immediate past governors of Rivers and Ebonyi states, as ministers of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) and Minister of Works, respectively, on Wednesday, August 16.
Meanwhile, from the list, it was observed that 13 of the nominees were appointed ministers of state, while some new ministries were also created.
The President also appointed Festus Keyamo as the aviation minister.
The names of a former governor of Kaduna state, Nasir El-Rufai, a former national women leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Stella Okotete, and a ministerial nominee from Taraba state, Danladi Abubakar, were absent from the list seen in Abuja.
In addition, 13 of the nominees were appointed as ministers of state, and several new ministries were established. This comes as the Ministry of Niger Delta Affairs appears to have been disbanded because it was not on the ministerial list, and there is now no senior Minister of Petroleum, according to the Vanguard report.
President Bola Tinubu is allegedly considering the inauguration of his cabinet on Monday, August 21, just three months after taking the oath of office and beginning his administration on his own.
