OdumoduBlvck And Fireboy DML Team Up For New Single ‘Firegun’
Odumodu Blvck, a Nigerian Hip Hop sensation, has released a new track named ‘Firegun,’ in which he features Fireboy.
By Omotayo Olutekunbi
Odumodu Blvck is a fast-rising Nigerian musician whose combination of Hip Hop and Highlife is energizing the Nigerian rap industry and gaining the hearts of millions of fans.
‘Firegun’ is a Hip Hop/Pop hybrid in which Odumodu delivers his signature swaggering rap lines in Pidgin, street slang, and English while also interpolating Highlife melodies.
The hip-hop sensation also released ‘Firegun,’ a new track and gritty alien video made by Earthboy that features Fireboy DML. The scenario is deep in the underworld of a grungy metropolis inhabited by gorgeous vampires and other bizarre individuals, depicting a dark and spooky universe evoking The Matrix and Bladerunner.
Odumodu plays an operative on a mission to eliminate the wicked Bs, while Fireboy is the supervillain entrusted with keeping the blood flowing.
Odumodu Blvck is preparing to release his highly awaited EP ‘EZIOKWU’ on July 19th. “Eziokwu” translates to “The Truth” in English, and the EP is all about quiet revolt, with ODUMODUBLVCK portraying himself as the truth in the Nigerian music business.
From his early tracks ‘Picanto’ as the unstoppable underdog to the ground-breaking ‘Declan Rice’ and the subsequent ‘Dog Eat Dog II,’ he’s changing things up in the African music scene as a rapper on afro rhythms – not simply singing. The EP also includes appearances from African musicians such as Amaarae, Fireboy, and Cruel Santino.
