The National Democratic Coalition (NADECO), headquartered in the United States of America (USA), has passionately urged Nigerian President Bola Tinubu to resign from his position.
In a statement issued on September 25, 2023, NADECO USA highlighted concerns regarding the controversy surrounding Bola Tinubu’s academic credentials at Chicago State University.
The organization expressed profound dismay over the international embarrassment faced by Nigeria, a nation of over 200 million people, due to the doubts raised about Tinubu’s educational background. They underscored the detrimental effect this controversy has had on the country’s worldwide image.
In their statement, NADECO USA strongly condemned the socio-economic challenges faced by Nigerians, blaming policies implemented during Tinubu’s government. They pointed out that Nigeria is currently dealing with profound domestic, regional, and international crises, with a deteriorating economy and citizens yearning for change.
The group emphasized the alarming devaluation of the Nigerian currency, stating, “Presently, a dollar is a stone’s throw from a thousand naira.” They highlighted the detrimental impact of Tinubu’s unwavering pursuit of his political ambitions, which not only harmed the nation’s economy but also compromised the credibility of institutions like Chicago State University.
NADECO USA fervently urged President Tinubu to step down, believing his resignation could prevent a potential crisis in Nigeria. They emphasized that his departure could lead to forgiveness from the Nigerian people and help rebuild the reputation of affected institutions.
The organization appealed to Tinubu to prioritize the nation’s welfare, liberating both himself and Nigeria from the repercussions of his questionable actions, asserting that such a move would be in the country’s best interest.
