BY ADEKE CHUKWUKA
Nigerian actor and comedian, Adebowale Adedayo, widely recognized as Mr Macaroni, passionately calls on the Nigerian police to release all protesters unjustly detained during the 2020 #ENDSARS demonstrations.
On the third anniversary of the tragic 2020 Lekki massacre, Mr Macaroni led a peaceful protest on October 20, 2023. He demanded the Nigerian police release all protesters unjustly detained during the 2020 #ENDSARS demonstrations. Mr Macaroni emphasized the need to honor the lives lost and called for the unconditional release of those still imprisoned since 2020, urging authorities to take immediate action.
Mr Macaroni emphasized that he and many Nigerians protest in the hope of witnessing improvements in their country within their lifetime. He expressed deep love for the nation and a desire for a better future, highlighting the importance of their ongoing efforts to prevent the country from deteriorating. According to him, these actions serve as a reminder to ensure that everyone gets the better future they deserve.
Since 2020, Mr Macaroni has been highly engaged in activism, actively participating alongside notable activists like Falz and Aisha Yesufu. He played a significant role in the historic #ENDSARS protests, advocating to end police brutality in Nigeria. Like numerous Nigerians, he faced arrest and brutality during the initial memorial gathering in 2021, demonstrating his unwavering commitment to the cause.
