Ilebaye Odiniya, known by her fans as Baye or Genz baddie, emerged as the winner of the 2023 Big Brother Naija All Stars season. She made headlines during her time on the show due to various controversies, ultimately leading to her victory. However, in this profile, we’ll delve into her personal background.
Ilebaye, a 22-year-old actress and model, hails from the Igala tribe in Olamaboro local government area of Kogi State. She was born and raised by Hon and Mrs. Odinya in Okpo, Kogi State. For her secondary education, she attended the Federal Government Girls College in Kabba. She furthered her education at Salem University in Lokoja, where she pursued a degree in Criminology and Security Studies.
Ilebaye’s journey into acting began in her childhood, and she gained recognition for her roles in popular TV drama series produced by Wale Adenuga Productions, such as “Papa Ajasco,” “Super Story,” and “Nnenna and Friends,” during her early years in JSS1.
Her Big Brother Naija experience started in 2022 during the seventh season, known as “Level Up.” She entered the house as the fourth housemate on July 23, 2022, but her stay was short-lived as she was evicted in the third week.
In the eighth season, an all-star edition, Ilebaye returned as one of the 20 former Big Brother Naija housemates. She entered the house as the 13th housemate and managed to reach the grand finale, despite receiving two strikes during her stay. Notably, she was the only first-timer in the finale among the other contestants competing for the ₦120 million prize.
After fan votes were tallied, Ilebaye secured 30.08% of the total votes, surpassing Mercy Eke, who received 23.48%. As a result, she was awarded the ₦120 million cash prize and other rewards, becoming the third female contestant to win the show.
