Underworld’s Len Wiseman is directing the picture, which is based on a script by Shay Hatten, who is renowned for John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum and Army of the Dead. The plot revolves around a female assassin, played by de Armas, who seeks vengeance on those who murdered her family. De Armas’ character appeared briefly in Parabellum as a young dancer who was also preparing to be an assassin.
Beyond her powers as an action star, though, de Armas has established herself as one of Hollywood’s most talented actors. De Armas’ versatility as an actor has been seen in Blade Runner 2049, Knives Out, and Deep Water. In addition to this action-packed production, de Armas will star in the Netflix biography Blonde, which will be released later this year. De Armas will play Marilyn Monroe, a famous actress and model, in that film.
In addition to the first two Underworld pictures, Wiseman has demonstrated his ability to direct large-scale action blockbusters with films like the critically acclaimed Live Free or Die Hard. The groundwork is set for this to be a high-quality addition to the John Wick world, which is rapidly expanding thanks to the upcoming Continental prequel series. John Wick 4 is planned to enter cinemas on March 24, 2023, and is the fourth instalment in the franchise.
